The results of this study regarding the effects of Reikiology® on instantaneous mood (well-being) and stress (at work, anxiety, anguish, university studies, personal problems) – The results were observed for a single 45-minute session.
Experimental plan of the anti-stress and well-being study Concerned about our consistency and our ethics, we requested that the effects of Reikiologie®, a protected trademark for certified professional Reiki, which can only be found at the French Federation of Traditional Reiki, be clinically evaluated.
For this reason, we voluntarily participated in a study conducted by a French ISO 9001 certified laboratory, which is approved by the Ministry of Health as a clinical experimentation center.
The study was conducted in an open-label, parallel-group design:
a group of subjects benefited from a Reikiology® session and
Another group of subjects had a rest session.
To avoid any ambiguity about the results, the people in the rest group benefited from the same comfort as the people in the Reikiology® session group.
The objectives of this study were to assess:
The effect of Reikiology®, a specific method of meditative relaxation through touch, on the instantaneous mood (well-being) of subjects, in comparison with the instantaneous mood of subjects who remained at rest, without a session
The effect of a Reikiology® session on the biological parameters of the subjects
The effect of a Reikiology® session on nervous tremors at rest (stress)
Control during the anti-stress and well-being study
The study took place under medical supervision, within the clinical experimentation center.
A clinical physician monitored the subjects in the rest sessions and the subjects receiving Reikiology® sessions before and after, and recorded the measurements.
The panel formed by the participants: subjects under stress Men and women aged 18 to 60 All participants were volunteers and were recruited by the laboratory. These participants did not know what to expect, other than the fact that it was a relaxation practice. There was therefore no possible placebo effect.
Both groups consisted of both men and women.
40 people participated in this study:
20 people for Reikiology® sessions
20 people for rest sessions
Ages ranged from 18 to 60 years, with an average age of 33 years (plus or minus 2 years).
All 40 volunteers reported experiencing significant stress and/or anxiety.
Stress assessment criteria
Assessments of stress impacting the subjects were carried out before and after the session at rest and before and after the Reikiology® session.
The criteria were:
instant mood analysis;
monitoring of biological parameters;
Assessment of nervous tremor by a device
Origin of volunteers' stress: work, anguish, anxiety
In both groups of subjects, the subjects indicated the origin of their stress:
Stress at work
The stress of university studies
Stress from personal problems
Stress generated by anguish and anxiety
The results of the well-being and anti-stress study (anxiety, anxiety, stress at work, studies, etc.)
Instant mood (well-being) After the Reikiologie® sessions, a significant increase in the subjects' pleasant mood, as well as a significant decrease in the unpleasant mood, was observed.
In subjects who remained at rest for 45 minutes, without a Reikiology® session, a decrease in unpleasant mood was observed, but the rest did not result in any increase in pleasant mood.
Therefore, it should be noted that a Reikiology® session allows an inner transformation of the subject towards a pleasant mood, whereas a simple session at rest, under the same conditions, does not have this effect of natural transformation (from discomfort to well-being).
